Allstate Insurance Launches Customer Telephone Assistance

Montreal (May 3, 2004) – Allstate Insurance Company of Canada, Quebec operations, in collaboration with FBA Consultants, today launches a strategic business partnership with Sigma Assistel to provide Allstate customers with emergency and beneficial telephone assistance information and referral services. This is the first comprehensive telephone service with a human voice offered on the other end for both property and casualty insurance policyholders in Canada.

�Allstate Canada is excited by the partnership we have designed with Sigma Assistel,� said Danielle Charbonneau, Regional Director for Quebec. �Sigma Assistel will provide our customers with a one-stop 24 hour telephone assistance service for roadside emergencies, home repairs, or health and medical information from registered nurses., Immediate, reassuring and helpful assistance is a toll-free phone call away.�

The Allstate Assistance telephone service launches first in Quebec and will be offered elsewhere in Canada as demanded by customers. This new initiative follows the successful recent launch of Allstate Canada�s myallstate.ca, the first tool of its kind in Canada, to allow insurance consumers to manage their insurance information and coverage online.

Road Assistance
Solving issues people face while driving their car, such as lost keys, flat tires or mechanical problems.
Home Assistance
Providing referrals and advice for property and home repairs, maintenance, and renovation.

Providing answers to medical, lifestyle or health-related questions about topics such as vaccination, exercise and childcare.
Domestic Assistance
Answering questions and offering referrals for everyday home and family situations, such as information on community care, retirement homes, and home services.
Convalescence Assistance
Helping customers and their families recovering from accidents, serious illness, and surgery with expert medical information and contact with suppliers and care specialists.
Travel – Concierge Assistance
Trip and vacation planning, providing information, insight and assistance for activities and events, hotels and restaurants, customs and habits, at home and abroad. Providing assistance with event and restaurant reservations, foreign legal assistance, and lost travel documents and baggage.
