Progressive Makes It Even Easier For DORIS And Applied Users To Serve Customers

Agents and brokers to enjoy expanded access to real-time information and functionality

MAYFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio, December 10, 2003 The Progressive group of insurance companies – the largest writer of auto insurance through independent insurance agencies in the country and a leader in providing agency technology that’s fast and easy to use – has teamed with IVANS, Applied Systems, and DORIS to help independent agencies provide faster, more accurate customer service by giving them access to more of the real-time information and functionality available on Progressive’s agency-dedicated Web site, (FAO) through their agency management systems. This means they have access to FAO functionality and information without having to log on to the site.

Through the use of IVANS Transformation Station, Progressive authorized agents and brokers who use DORIS agency management system software can now access real-time policy and billing information and those who use Applied Systems software can now make payments and get real-time policy information that they previously could only get on FAO.

“Agents and brokers tell us that they want to work with companies that make things easy and this technology does just that,” said Chris Garson, Progressive’s Agency Business IT Director. “This speeds up transactions, satisfying agents and their customers. And, agents and brokers can be confident that the information they provide their customers is up-to-date and accurate.”

In September, Progressive was named by Applied Systems as the 2003 Interface Best Practices Award winner in recognition of its efforts to make it policy transactions, policy inquiries, claims transactions and policy downloads easier for independent agents and brokers. Progressive continues to work with technology vendors to expand the variety of real time policy information available through agency management systems.

The Progressive group of insurance companies, in business since 1937, comprises the nation’s third-largest auto insurance group. The more than 30,000 independent agencies that represent Progressive combine the power of personalized service and counsel with Progressive’s trusted brand, superior 24/7 service, innovative technology and competitive rates. Authorized agents and brokers can logon to Progressive’s agent- and broker-dedicated Web site, (FAO) to access customer policies, process policy transactions, get state and countrywide news, and use other interactive features.
