January 22, 2003 (Toronto, Canada) – Web Front Communications Inc., an innovative developer of enterprise Web Solutions, today announced the availability of a demonstration of its Tablet PC Home Appraisal insurance solution. The solution, a prototype application designed for field use in a Home Appraisal scenario, leverages Microsoft Windows XP for Tablet PC Edition and is built entirely using the Microsoft .NET Framework.
The Tablet PC Home Appraisal insurance solution was developed with the needs of the Canadian Property & Casualty market in mind. In addition to the Home Appraisal solution, other insurance sector applications are currently under development by Web Front for underwriting and claims automation. Additionally, Web Front is developing similar solutions for other key verticals including legal, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and government.
Each application allows those working in the field to more effectively facilitate key business activities, such as taking and converting handwritten notes, completing automated forms, managing tasks and accessing data from remote locations. Furthermore, with the wireless transmission capabilities of most Tablet PCs, claims, underwriting documents and appraisal forms are expedited without the need for data re-entry, greatly reducing errors and fraud.
The Tablet PC Home Appraisal demonstration clearly shows the power of a custom Tablet PC enabled application; specifically in helping organizations realize the benefits when data is captured at a single point electronically. The demonstration represents a typical appraisal form currently in use by many insurance organizations. Forms are enabled for the Tablet PC to include handwriting and speech recognition as well as conventional keyboard entry. A digital camera interface is also provided for photo acquisition and annotation. Additionally, an Appraisers signature can be captured electronically in a secure, tamper-proof area.
Web Fronts insurance clients are very excited about leveraging the Tablet PC and with this type of demand, we wanted to make an insurance solution demonstration available for download,” says Chris Trauzzi, President, Web Front. “The Tablet PC will change the way field agents capture and deliver information, improving their productivity as documents such as forms and field notes are prepared and processed more quickly and efficiently.
