Atlanta, GA – June 24, 2002 – DWL, the leading provider of
Unified Business Services software, today announced it has established a strategic
alliance with Nissay Information Technology Co., Ltd. [Nissay-IT], a strategic IT company
of the Nissay Group and a specialist provider of financial services solutions, to license
its unified business services software to the Japanese financial services market.
Under the terms of the strategic alliance, Nissay-IT will
be a distributor for the Japanese double byte version of DWL Unifi™. DWL Unifi is an
enterprise application for business process integration that provides a scalable
enterprise foundation for DWL industry applications and integrates with DWL Customer™,
the only solution designed specifically as an enterprise customer administration
application through which all customer transactions from both front and back office systems flow.
Nissay-IT will distribute the Japanese double byte versions
of DWL’s industry applications including, DWL Insurance for P&C Agent Broker and DWL
Insurance for Life Agent Broker, and provide consulting, support, implementation and
training on DWL’s suite of applications for the Japanese financial services market.
“Through this alliance, Nissay-IT will dramatically
enhance its solution offering to the financial services market. A key challenge for these
companies is to enable transactional self-service capabilities to support multi-channel
delivery of sales and service. Nissay-IT is very excited about leveraging DWL’s solutions
to help these companies achieve an edge over competitors,” said Masatsugu Kohri,
Executive Vice President, Nissay-IT.
“This is an outstanding beginning to DWL’s entry into
the second largest financial services market,” said John Baumstark, president and
CEO, DWL. “It’s also a terrific opportunity to break into an exciting market with an
experienced partner that understands the specific needs of Japanese financial services
companies and their requirement to become fully customer centric.”
Nissay-IT will provide sales, delivery and support
infrastructure for DWL applications to support the needs of the largest domestic and
foreign financial services companies in Japan. This agreement will allow North American
and European branch offices and subsidiaries, which may not wish to retain an internal IT
function for their e-business applications, access to the services from Nissay-IT as a utility.
“With the rapid globalization of the financial
services marketplace, we at DWL recognize the need to provide our customers with global
offerings but on a local basis with local market support,” added Baumstark.
