June 5, 2002 (Toronto) – CNA Marine Operations has purchased a leading Web-based application from Insurance Systems Inc. (ISI) for its OMMni.com ocean cargo insurance application.
WebWriter™ Cargo solution is a fully secure, Internet-based software system that allows for online policy processing from quoting to binding. Designed to increase productivity and improve service, it lessens the workload for Cargo customers, brokers and insurers by eliminating the need for paper-based documents and providing an online platform to issue electronic certificates and declarations. Use of WebWriter™ Cargo helps lower expense ratios, reduce errors and increase customer retention for marine insurers.
CNA is a leading provider of ocean marine insurance in North America and Europe. It offers underwriting flexibility, a broad geographical reach, and over 130 years of marine insurance expertise. CNA has used the WebWriter™ Cargo solution for two years, and currently utilizes the solution to serve more than 5,000 users with 1,000 individual policies.
“We are very pleased that CNA has adopted the WebWriter™ Cargo solution for its ‘OMMni.com’ application on a global basis, making it a cornerstone of their cargo business plan,” said Terry Neilson, president of Insurance Systems Inc. “The adoption of the ISI WebWriter application by brokers and policyholders shows that Web-based transactional processing is the best way to help increase productivity and decrease costs.”
“We have realized substantial business gains by using the WebWriter platform in our marine insurance operation over the past two years,” said Bob Schauer, VP, Field Operations. “Our purchase of this innovative application demonstrates we are committed to giving our agents, brokers and policyholders quick, responsive service and leading-edge products in the ocean marine marketplace.”
