The Insurance Institute of Canada is excited to announce the launch, on March 15, 2002, of its
On-Line Skills Shop Resource Centre. This is a uniquely different and powerful approach to training, by offering
to its more than 32,000 members, a real experience in professional development and just-in-time skills, in a
dynamic soft-skills program presentation.
The training is cost effective, users have 24-7 access and can build their skills almost
immediately. The course content, which is exclusive to the property and casualty insurance industry in Canada,
includes 30-45 minute sessions, an e-certificate upon completion and dynamic post testing. In addition, these
on-line skills-development courses can be applied towards compulsory continuation credits, such as the
Brokers Continuing Education Program.
This is the first of three releases. Each release will contain 15 or more courses. The first
release will focus on 4 main categories, including Team & Leadership Skills, Sales Professionals – Customer
Service Reps, Stress Management and Project Management.
