Schaumburg, IL, February 4, 2002 — Zurich
Life today announced the successful launch of its new, online, paper-less pre-application
service. In the three short weeks since the service became available, 34 general agents
have signed up. “We are very pleased with how well this has been received by our
GAs,” said Marty Manning, sales vice president of Zurich Life. “Our general
agents are always looking for ways to offer their writing agents a competitive advantage,
and Zurich Life’s online process does just that by eliminating the paperwork and any
delays caused by incomplete information.”
With only five input screens to complete,
writing agents can enter the applicant’s data and then review it for accuracy. The
pre-applications are submitted instantly with an agent’s electronic signature, and Zurich
Life’s TeleLife unit finishes the process. Writing agents automatically receive an
e-mail confirmation of TeleLife ‘s receipt of the pre-application. “The powerful
combination of electronic pre-app submissions and TeleLife can cut days out of the
application process and deliver policies faster,” according to Manning.
“As a company, we are firmly committed to
providing our distribution partners with the tools they need to effectively grow their
businesses,” said Ivor Tham, Zurich Life’s executive vice president of e-business.
“Our electronic pre-application service is just one more way Zurich Life is making
sure that we are easy to do business with.”
The new electronic term life pre-application
process was piloted with select Zurich Life general agents last year. The paper-less
process was previewed at the National Association of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies
(NAILBA) meeting this past November.
