EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Dec. 11 — Computer Sciences
Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today introduced CSC CyberCare(SM), an enterprise information risk
management service designed to support the full range of information assurance and
information security needs of clients on a global basis.
“The roll-out of CSC CyberCare marks a major milestone
in the application of state-of-the-art information security tools and expertise to provide
comprehensive, uniform solutions tailored to the specific needs of clients in both
industry and government,” said CSC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Van B. Honeycutt.
CSC CyberCare, originally developed by CSC’s Global
Information Security Services (GISS) unit to support clients in the U.S. federal
government, has been expanded to include industry-specific solutions for all commercial
sectors, such as audit preparation and readiness support for financial institutions;
privacy and confidentiality assurance for the healthcare industry; and information and
operations security for manufacturing, energy, aerospace, and chemical and oil industries.
Commercial clients already receiving CSC CyberCare services
include DuPont, Raytheon and Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. Government clients include
the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Defense Information Systems Agency and
the General Services Administration. CSC’s own global network security organization enjoys
the protection and security of CSC CyberCare.
Last February, CSC announced that it had consolidated
companywide expertise in information security into its GISS unit to meet increasing demand
for global enterprise-scale risk-management solutions and services, including consulting,
architecture and integration, evaluation and assessment, deployment and operations, and training.
“We now have more than 1,000 security specialists
positioned to support any client anywhere in the world,” said Joe Stafford, CSC vice
president in charge of the GISS unit. “Whether clients require simple security
consulting, 24X7 managed security services or complete information security outsourcing,
CSC CyberCare provides the service and delivery framework to afford clients a
cost-effective balance between performance and protection.
“In addition, our dedicated information security labs
in Maryland, Virginia, Texas, Australia, and Sweden keep us on the cutting edge of
security technology development and integration,” noted Stafford. “We can
simulate virtually any client architecture and configuration as we design and test new,
high-confidence solutions to keep our clients well ahead of the information protection curve.”
CSC began building its information security expertise in
1970 when the company received an award from the U.K. Ministry of Defense. Later, CSC was
named a winner of the U.S. federal government’s first information security contract. The
company was also a recipient of the first contract awarded by the U.S. Defense Information
Systems Agency to secure global networks that support the Department of Defense.
Computer Sciences Corporation, one of the world’s leading
consulting and information technology (IT) services firms, helps clients in industry and
government achieve strategic and operational objectives through the use of technology. The
company’s success is based on its culture of working collaboratively with clients to
develop innovative technology strategies and solutions that address specific business challenges.
Having guided clients through every major wave of change in
information technology since 1959, CSC combines the newest technologies with its
capabilities in consulting, systems design and integration, IT and business process
outsourcing, applications software, and Web and application hosting to meet the individual
needs of global corporations and organizations. With some 68,000 employees in locations
worldwide, CSC had revenues of $11.1 billion for the 12 months ended Sept. 28, 2001. It is
