Technology Speeds Life Distribution

September 14, 2004

Hosted by Insurance Canada
the premier Internet reference site for insurance in Canada

Sponsored by:
ci - Canadian Insurance Magazine

With Life insurance and related products becoming more complex, consumers becoming more knowledgeable and information becoming more transparent, experience has shown that intermediaries will long remain the key component of Life insurance distribution. Claiming mind-share and shelf-space is becoming paramount for insurance company business and technology strategies in the competitive financial services environment. Quality product, just-in-time marketing support, high-quality underwriting, distributor service, cycle time, and compensation are all points of competition which are being impacted by computing and Internet technologies.

Processes traditionally confined within the four walls of an organization are being extended and shared with others in the the distribution channel. The focus of this seminar will be on the use of computer and Internet technologies today to improve both the efficiency and effectiveness of interactions among the participants involved in the distribution chain - Insurer to customer. Experienced practitioners will provide a real-world perspective of the current status, and thought-provoking views on the near- and mid-term changes we are likely to see.

By attending this session, you will learn more about the impact that computer applications, the Internet and other changes are having on Life Insurance distribution, from product information distribution through quoting, underwriting and issue through to compensation. A number of speakers will present their respective topics in various aspects of this topic, including how you may benefit.
