Insurance-Canada.ca Seminar Improving Claims Processing: March 25, 2004 Hosted by Insurance Canada
the premier Internet reference site for insurance in Canada
Claims represents the "delivery-of-value" point for insurance. Insurers and their services providers face the challenge of meeting customer satisfaction demands, driven by the consumer, competition and even regulation. On the other hand the cost side of the balance scales drives companies to look for new claims business models, to enhance the productivity of their staff, and to apply approaches -- including technology -- to improve both efficiency and effectiveness. Claims, related to the loss of ability by a person to live or work normally, cross all areas of insurance, from Life's short and long term disability, to Health, and to bodily injury in auto and other lines in the P&C sector. This vast segment of claims has received a lot of attention by different groups. Pharmacy and dental claims are perhaps the most automated, but even there the participants continue to strive for more. At the other end of the spectrum, complex injury claims with many service providers involved in the recovery and compensation process are a very big challenge. With improved communications tools like the Internet, and technology tools which are becoming functionally richer, insurers are challenged to choose the right improvements to pursue, and tools to implement. This half day seminar will focus on some of the trends, techniques and tools:
