Immediate Life Application Processing - The Winding Path

Friday, September 13, 2002

Hosted by Insurance Canada
the premier Internet reference site for insurance in Canada

Sponsored by:
Business Process Outsourcing for Canadian Life Insurance
ci   Canadian Insurance magazine

Contrary to the initial bursts of enthusiasm for dis-intermediated online life insurance sales over the Internet, the focus of leading life practitioners and suppliers is now on driving efficiency and effectiveness in the supply-distribution chain. Processes traditionally confined within the four walls of an organization are being extended out through the distribution channel and back along the supply chain.

Experience has shown that intermediaries are not going to go away. Therefore, claiming mind-share and shelf-space is becoming paramount for insurance company Internet strategies in the competitive financial services environment. Quality product, just-in-time marketing support, high-quality underwriting, distributor service, cycle time, and compensation are all points of competition which are being positively impacted by Internet technology.

The focus of the seminar will be on the use of the Internet and associated technologies today to improve both the efficiency and effectiveness of interactions among the participants involved in new business-related functions. Experienced practitioners will provide a real-world perspective of the current status, and thought provoking views on the near- and mid-term term changes we are likely to see.
