from Doug:

We had our heritage group's annual day bus trip on Saturday and explored some of the towns and historical sites in the Niagara Peninsula, the part which is close to Lake Ontario, but west of Niagar-on-the-Lake area which we had visited previously. I find it so fascinating that as soon as you get off the busy thoroughfares and visit the smaller places, the history is so rich. These are the little places one could almost see from one of our busier highways (which I have travelled many times) but which I had never previously taken the time to explore.
