New CFA Study Rates 40% of Term Insurance Websites as "NOT RECOMMENDED" August 1, 2001. Washington DC. Today the Consumers Federation of America released a comparative study of 25 web-based Internet sites offering comparative term life information. The results show tremendous differences in the quality and reliability of these sites in finding the most economical term life insurance. 40% (10 out of 25) of the sites analyzed are so inadequate and potentially misleading that they are not recommended by CFA.
