Insurance Distribution Information from Canada Ontario Broker Association Launches Free Roadshow Education Events for Members Toronto, Ontario, March 8, 2010 - Today, The Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) announced that they will be hosting over 50 roadshow education events in 26 locations across Ontario to educate brokers on the newly amended automobile insurance regulations. There will be no cost for association members. The new automobile insurance regulations were announced on Tuesday and will take effect on September 1, 2010. These reforms are the result of the Five Year Review of Automobile Insurance, commissioned by the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO). IBAO applauds the governments mandate to provide better protection for consumers. "We are very pleased with the amendments," stated IBAO CEO Randy Carroll. "Ontario brokers are committed to informing and protecting their consumers. IBAO is also dedicated to the broker community and we are thrilled to announce the roadshow education events as a way to connect with local brokers and inform them of all the modifications." The roadshow educations events will begin in April and will focus on specific changes of the proposed reforms, best practices for brokers, legal and professional obligations of brokers and a preview of some of the tools the association will be developing for members to use when informing their customers.
