Directory of Reporting Services and Products for Claims ASSI: Guelph Collision Reporting Centre Open June 22, 2011 June 22, 2011 – The Guelph Police Service and Accident Support Services International Ltd. (ASSI), facilitators of Collision Reporting to the Insurance Industry, are pleased to announce the opening of the Guelph Collision Reporting Centre on June 22, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. The Guelph Collision Reporting Centre will provide enhanced value to the public in the reporting of vehicle collisions. The “one-on-one” interview process simplifies the reporting process, and adds value to the customer service aspect. Police and Insurers will now have real-time access to collision data and reports through ASSI’s Microsoft award winning ‘Collision Reporting & Occurrence Management System’ (CROMS). In addition, Accident Support Services’ staff complete the data entry for all official MVAR reports, capturing the information for analysis and focused policing initiatives. Citizens will have the convenience of a safe, convenient location where they can attend to complete their report. Police will continue to investigate collisions at the scene that involve injuries, suspected criminal activities, or damage to private property. The Guelph Collision Reporting Centre is located in the Clair Road Emergency Services Centre at 160 Clair Road West, Guelph, Ontario. The hours of operation are from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, closing on Statutory Holidays. Upon arrival at the centre, citizens are greeted by a member of Accident Support Services’ staff, who provides help to complete the police report, applies the “Damage Reported to Police” sticker, photographs the damage to the vehicle, and offers the customer the opportunity to contact family, broker or insurance company directly from the Emergency Services Centre. The citizen is provided with a one-stop service opportunity for all their reporting needs. Police personnel are also available as needed to assist with the accident report. The goal of ASSI is to facilitate an active partnership between the police and insurers in post accident care by providing knowledgeable advice and assistance to accident victims with empathy, integrity and availability. This results in increased convenience for the public as well as greater road safety. Supporting insurers fund the program; therefore, there is no cost to the police or the public for these additional services. This facility will be the 23rd Collision Reporting Centre operated by Accident Support Services in partnership with Police Services in Ontario. Furthermore, 17 additional jurisdictions utilize ASSI’s CROMS program as their electronic collision and records management database. Chief Rob Davis and his team look forward to working with ASSI in the operation of the Collision Reporting Centre. Speaking on behalf of the Guelph Police Service, Chief Davis stated, “This is an excellent example of a partnership that will provide enhanced service to the community while allowing police to re-deploy resources to higher priority needs.” “In these challenging times of doing more with less, partnerships such as this exemplify the benefits of public and private sector partners working together and we look forward to this opportunity.” For more information on Accident Support Services International Ltd. please visit www.accsupport.com.
