2010 Insurance-Canada.ca Technology Award Winners ICTA Nominations Have Insurance-Canada.ca Hopping! November 18, 2011, Toronto - The nomination period for the Insurance-Canada.ca Technology Awards (ICTA) has ended on a hugely successful note. Great interest has been shown by the P&C Insurance industry; participation this year surpassed that of the previous two years combined. The objective of ICTA is to celebrate organizations in the Canadian Property and Casualty Insurance industry whose implementation and use of technology shows a significant impact on some aspect - small or large, within an organization or across organizations - of the sale, processing and servicing of P&C insurance in Canada. The nominations are of high quality and reflect the extent to which computers and communications are being used to improve operational efficiencies and the delivery of insurance service to the Canadian public. The range of uses by those nominated across the insurance community is amazing in its breadth. Those who submitted applications placed the nominees in one of three categories: Insurers, Distributors and Suppliers and the number in each group is similar. An international jury will approve three finalists from each category. These nine finalists will be featured in the February Technology Issue of Canadian Insurance Top Broker Magazine. From the finalists, the jury will select the winner in each category, the three winners to be announced at the Insurance-Canada.ca Technology Conference (ICTC). ICTA's were first awarded in February of 2010 at the 2010 ICTC. The following year a special awards dinner was held in the evening following the Conference. For the 2012 awards, the ceremony will be part of the awards luncheon at the ICTC to be held on March 5 at the Sheraton Centre in Toronto. The lunch speaker will be Kimberly Harris-Ferrante, Gartner Group, who will deliver the conference keynote address at that time. The luncheon is part of the Conference registration package, but a separate registration is available for those who wish to attend only the luncheon event.
